Privacy Policy

1. Information SwipeClean accesses

SwipeClean needs access to images stored on your device so that it can find and organize screenshots. Access is provided through Android's media APIs and is subject to the permissions available on your version of Android.

With your permission, SwipeClean may use this access to:

• find screenshots stored on your device;
• display screenshots inside the app;
• calculate how much storage screenshots use;
• identify duplicate and visually similar screenshots;
• categorize screenshots into groups such as receipts, documents, conversations, QR codes, products, and maps;
• let you mark screenshots to keep, favorite, or delete; and
• request deletion of screenshots you choose to remove.

Android permissions

Depending on your Android version, SwipeClean may declare or request:

• READ_MEDIA_IMAGES on Android 13 and newer, where applicable;
• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android versions where required;
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android versions where required for media management;
• VIBRATE to provide optional haptic feedback; and
• INTERNET for advertising services and libraries that require network access.

SwipeClean does not require access to your microphone, contacts, or precise location for its screenshot-organizing functionality. It does not request Android's broad "all files access" permission.

2. What leaves your device

SwipeClean does not transmit the contents of your screenshots to SwipeClean servers because SwipeClean does not operate a screenshot processing server.

The app does not intentionally transmit:

• screenshots or copies of screenshots;
• screenshot thumbnails;
• recognized text extracted from screenshots;
• screenshot filenames;
• perceptual hashes generated for duplicate detection;
• screenshot categories or classification results;
• your keep, delete, or favorite decisions; or
• the contents of QR codes detected in screenshots.

Network communication does occur when third-party advertising services are used. That activity is described in the Advertising section below.

3. Advertising

SwipeClean is supported by advertisements provided through Google AdMob.

SwipeClean currently uses Google Mobile Ads with AdMob application ID ca-app-pub-4230828028150601~1481616905.

Ad placements

The app may display the following types of ads:

• Rewarded ads that you may choose to watch before opening certain review sessions;
• Interstitial ads that may appear after completed review sessions; and
• App-open ads that may appear when SwipeClean starts or resumes after being away for a period of time.

SwipeClean is designed not to display ads while you are actively making a keep or delete decision, reviewing the deletion queue, or interacting with Android's system deletion confirmation.

Information Google may process

When an advertisement is requested or displayed, Google's advertising SDK may process information such as:

• IP address;
• device type and device information;
• operating system and app information;
• advertising identifiers where available and permitted by your device, settings, consent choices, and applicable law;
• approximate location that may be inferred from information such as an IP address;
• consent and advertising preference information; and
• advertising events such as an ad request, impression, interaction, click, close, or reward.

The exact information processed by Google may vary depending on your device, Android version, region, privacy settings, consent choices, and Google's services.

Screenshot information is not provided to advertisers

SwipeClean does not provide Google AdMob with your screenshots, recognized screenshot text, screenshot categories, duplicate groups, review decisions, or other information derived from the contents of your screenshot library for advertising purposes.

Your screenshot contents are not used by SwipeClean to choose or personalize advertisements.

Google's privacy practices

Google's handling of information collected through its advertising technologies is governed by Google's own privacy terms and policies. You can learn more at:

Your advertising choices

Where required, including in certain European jurisdictions, SwipeClean uses Google's consent tools to present applicable privacy and advertising choices before requesting ads that require consent.

Where available, you can reopen these choices from Settings → Ads → Ad privacy choices.

Android may also provide controls for advertising identifiers and ad privacy under your device's privacy settings. The exact location and wording of these controls depends on your Android version and device manufacturer.

If an ad is unavailable

SwipeClean is designed so that failure to load a rewarded advertisement does not permanently prevent you from accessing the associated review functionality.

4. On-device screenshot analysis

SwipeClean analyzes screenshots locally to help organize them. Depending on the feature, this may involve Google ML Kit components bundled with or used by the app.

Text recognition

SwipeClean may temporarily recognize text in a screenshot to determine whether it resembles content such as a receipt, document, conversation, product page, or map.

Recognized text is used during local processing and is not intentionally saved as part of your SwipeClean history or transmitted to SwipeClean servers.

Barcode and QR detection

SwipeClean may detect whether a screenshot contains a QR code or other supported barcode so that the screenshot can be categorized.

SwipeClean does not automatically open links found in QR codes or send QR code contents to SwipeClean servers.

Image labeling

Local image labels may be used as an additional signal when determining a screenshot's category. These classification results are used for the app's organization features.

ML Kit configuration

SwipeClean is designed to perform screenshot classification using on-device models. Where supported by the libraries used by the app, optional data collection is disabled.

5. Information stored on your device

SwipeClean stores a limited amount of information in its private application storage so that it can remember your progress and settings.

This may include:

• keep, delete, and favorite decisions associated with media IDs;
• screenshot categories and classification confidence;
• a short perceptual hash used to identify visually similar screenshots;
• appearance and application preferences;
• age-filter and review settings;
• haptic feedback preferences;
• review and deletion counters;
• estimated storage recovered;
• onboarding status; and
• information about when your screenshot library was last scanned.

SwipeClean does not intentionally store a separate copy of each screenshot in its private application data, and recognized OCR text is not retained as part of your review history.

SwipeClean is configured so that its private review database and related private application data are not intended to be restored through Android cloud backup or device-to-device transfer.

6. Deleting screenshots

SwipeClean does not automatically delete screenshots simply because they have been categorized or identified as duplicates.

Marking a screenshot for deletion adds it to your review queue. Screenshots are only submitted for deletion after you confirm the deletion process.

Where Android requires system confirmation, Android displays its own deletion dialog. If you cancel that dialog, SwipeClean will not treat the affected screenshot as successfully deleted.

7. Removing SwipeClean data

Reset review history

Using Settings → Reset review history clears stored review decisions and related review statistics.

Resetting your SwipeClean history does not delete the screenshots stored in your photo library.

Uninstalling SwipeClean

Uninstalling SwipeClean removes the app and its locally stored private application data in accordance with Android's normal uninstall behavior.

Your screenshots remain in your device's media library.

8. Permissions and your choices

You can revoke SwipeClean's photo or media permissions at any time through your Android device settings.

A typical path is:

Android Settings → Apps → SwipeClean → Permissions

The exact menu names may vary depending on your Android version and device manufacturer.

Without permission to access images, SwipeClean may be unable to find, display, categorize, or help you manage screenshots.

9. Children

SwipeClean is a general-purpose device utility and is not designed or directed specifically toward children.

SwipeClean does not require users to create an account or provide their name, email address, or date of birth to use its screenshot organization features.

Third-party advertising services may process advertising-related data as described in the Advertising section. Advertising behavior may also vary based on region, device settings, consent choices, and applicable requirements.

10. Security

SwipeClean is designed to minimize privacy risk by keeping screenshot analysis on your device and avoiding a SwipeClean cloud account or screenshot-processing backend.

Information stored by SwipeClean is kept within the app's private storage using Android's application sandbox.

No method of electronic storage or software security can guarantee absolute security, but SwipeClean aims to collect and retain only the information necessary to provide its functionality.

11. Development builds

Development versions of SwipeClean may use development-only networking configuration to communicate with developer tools, such as a local development server used to provide application code during testing.

These development features are not intended to be part of the production version distributed through Google Play.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

SwipeClean may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes or when legal, technical, or platform requirements change.

For example, this policy may be updated before introducing features such as analytics, crash reporting, cloud processing, new advertising services, or other functionality that materially changes how information is processed.

When this policy changes, the Last updated date at the top of this page will also be updated. Where required, related Google Play disclosures will be updated as well.
